Panamérica’s debut album, “Mojitos, guitarras & tamborins” explores a plethora of rhythms and languages
Panamérica releases it’s debut album, “Mojitos, guitarras & tamborins” (Las Rambles) produced by guitarist Caio Barreto from Rio de Janeiro – Brasil. This album is inspired by the rhythmic and cultural diversity of the different musical styles from different countries. In the past three years Panamérica has performed dozens of concerts in Rio, and received unbelievable responses. This past year Panamérica has focused in the studio on accumulating these great experiences into recording the 11 tracks selected for this album. The official release date is estimated to be in October 2010.
Formed by Rafael Duarte (singer, songwriter and guitarist), Dingão (drums), Ivan Mariz (guitar), Cesar Lago (bass) and Flávio Sanriberio (percussionist). Panamérica conceptualizes its work on the mix of influences in the rhythms in the Latin diversity and in the Brazilian music. The set list navigates through various influences of the group members, especially samba, rock, African American music, salsa, Latin, and most influential Cuban music.
The compositions are written in three major languages of the Americas: English, Spanish and the native language Portuguese. Some of the songs in “Mojitos, guitarras & tamborins” (Las Ramblas) feature the Cuban singer and rapper René Ferrer, the pianist Tulio Mourão, the poet Omar Solomão, the musician Rhudson Lewkyan and the singer Sandro Black.
